ldb1Assistant State Attorney Linda Drane-Burdick will take the lead for the prosecution in the case against Casey Anthony. She has successfully prosecuted numerous high-profile cases, such as the 1986 rape and murder of 13-year-old Molli Pittman, and successfully obtained three life sentenced for Brent Mackinder, who was convicted of raping his 7-year-old niece and then trying to kill her along West Orange Trail.

Baez has his work cut out for himself. Everyone is refusing to give him their phone records. Orange County Deputy Cain joins Kronk and Huizenga in turning over his phone records. The request violates Cain’s right to privacy. His attorney, Stewart Cohen, also points to a Florida law that protects law enforcement officer’s records of home addresses, telephone numbers and other details.

Baez also puts out there the “ugly coping” theory! Lack of remorse was a condition known as “ugly coping”, according to Columbia University behaviorist to describe people who appear to grieve abnormally. So with this said, Casey not telling ANYONE that Caylee was missing, and was in Block Buster Video the following night, is part of this? Also, why was she doing her OWN investigation, but NO ONE knew about it? If this is Casey, then WHY are you determined to not let the video of Casey out when the news of the remains of a child were found? Because Casey knew that day that they found Caylee!

To my knowledge: Remorse is an emotional expression of personal regret felt by a person after he or she has committed an act which they deem to be shameful, hurtful, or violent.

  60. I like that prosecutor! Why is it a State Attorney? Isn’t it the County Courthouse? That confuses me! I work for a County and our prosecutor’s are paid by the County. Does it depend on the charge? I know they’ve prosecuted murders at the courthouse.

  288. If she dumped the body on June 27, I can’t see her going back with the cross on June 28. But with her who knows.

  296. On July 3 she makes a purchases for 10.46 at Team Choice, and 21.28 at Anchor Blue, And 15.98 at Target -all at the Florida Mall. I know she had Amy’s money but she couldn’t hang onto money, yet Cindy found a hundred left.

  300. I was following her wearabouts on this timeline for a while and on June 24, she had time and was in the right area to dump the body – I think after George got the gas cans. After than she stayed at Tony’s a lot and didn’t move about much. It was almost like talking a break.

  303. I think that’s what she did Chlry. She likely had a couple of places. After reading that LE said that Lee knows what he has done, I wonder if she put Caylee there. The body was found half way between both homes. She could have moved it from Lee’s to the discovery site.

I saw Baez float the idea of Casey’s partying after Caylee went “missing,” being due to “ugly coping.” Does Baez think at all before he opens his mouth? There are many flaws to this ridiculous theory. Casey partied long before Caylee died, so this isn’t unusual behavior. Casey was a habitual liar long before Caylee died, so that didn’t change when she was questioned by police. Nevermind all of that, the lady in the case Baez stupidly referred to, KNEW her husband was dead. To me, in order for this to fit, Casey had to know Caylee was dead. Baez can’t have it both ways.

  407. So true deb. I remember several months back Sindy made the comment that if WF DID do something to Cayless that she would see to it that she was prosecuted or something to that affect. Wow, she really changed her attitude when the evidence started pouring in. I just can’t for the life of me understand how she can defend her, lie for her, whatever. I’ve felt there were some major skeletons in the closet since her and G started defending her even with all the evidence. They are really back peddling now.

  409. A lot of us feel the same way. We all have different theories on what the big secret is. The fact that the parents won’t go to the jail makes me think part of it has to do with Casey implicating them in the cover up.

  411. Deb, I really dont’ think they had anything to do with movng the body or anything like that. I do think that WF told them something when she was out on bail. I think they are afraid of the skeletons falling out of the closet if they go to see her. I’m just having trouble connecting the dots. I can’t make myself think crazy enough to keep up with that dysfunctional family.

    I do have another theory tho. There is an abandoned house near the site where the body was found. I wonder if she would give Caylee zanex or something and leave her there when she went out to party. The last name of the owner of the property is Gonzalez.

  415. I wish I had a map of the area. It either shows the Anthonys home or the dumpsite. I can never correlate all the aspects of the case. It makes a lot of sense. I wonder how long it was abandoned and if Casey was aware of it?

  417. I don’t think they ever said how long it was abandoned. The way they explained the location I pictured it being on property adjacent to the dump site. Since she had spent so much time there as a kid/teenager burying pets/partying I would imagine she knew about it.

  421. Yes, I do think that she tried to bury her in the backyard and then changed her mind, put the body in the car and dumped her there after G nearly found her in the trunk.

    Weren’t Sindy and G away for a few days just after she left? That would have given her time to do that.

    Also, I don’t think G saw them on Monday. I think she left there on Sunday night (Father’s Day) in a rage and Sindy and George made up the story about them leaving on Monday just like it was any other normal day. They didn’t want to have to explain the fight.

  423. I don’t believe George saw her. Cindy said they were in the house when she left for work. Then why did it show up that she tried to call Casey at 7:45 am.
    I think Casey laid her down in the yard and maybe intended to bury her but was too lazy.

  431. Yes the dump site is north of the house. I have no sense of direction, but perhaps the house is north too and then the mention of Gonzalez would further clarify the directions if Casey were giving Lee hints.

  440. I think that’s the same one I have Susie. I just found one that showed where the remains were found in relationship to Lee’s and the Anthonys home. I’m afraid if I go back for it I’ll get thrown out again. Did you know the remains were closer to Lee’s place than to Casey’s place.

  444. Im sure she was over at his house as well as hers. The pings from his house and hers are between 2 so she was between them. But I heard that they can narrow it down to 1/16 of a mile. The know exactly where she was

  446. That’s really good to know. The remains were about a quarter mile so they’ll know if she were closer to her home or Lee’s. I thought lee was away then but she may have put Caylee there first.

    In response to your question about getting the swine flu shot in the 70’s, I don’t remember the year, but it was definitely in the 70’s and my children were little, but I did get the flu shot for the swine flu. Then another year it was the Hong Kong flu, but definitely I got the shot for the swine flu. I very rarely if ever got the flu shot, but because of the concern in those days over the swine flu, I opted to get it.
